Assistant Professor Marija Janković, the Dean of the Faculty of Business Studies of the Mediterranean University attended a three-day training course in Health Economics Management at the National and Kapodistrian University in Athens. The participants of the training were the representatives of the Mediterranean University, as partners in the project, then the representatives of the University of Donja Gorica, as project coordinators, the representatives of the Ministry of Health and the representatives of the Institute of Public Health.
Within the first day of the training in the field of Management Information Systems, the host of the training Prof. Dr. John Mantas of the University of Athens, introduced the basics of the Management Information System in Healthcare to the participants to enable them to analyze the specific issues and tasks in the field of Health Analytics of Economic Results, processing them in the SPSS. The participants were trained by Dr.Petros Galanis and Dr.Parisis Gallos, Professors of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.
On the second day of the training, Dr. Olga Siskou and Dr.Parisis Gallos from the University of Athens delivered the lectures on the Principles of Health Economics and provided the participants with the training in the analysis of reports and statistical data in the field of Health Economics, with the analysis of specific examples from the official statistics of the OECD and Eurostat.
On the third day of the training, Professor Marianne Diomidous introduced the topic of Public Health Issues to the participants, whereupon, during the discussion with the participants, the host Prof. Dr. John Mantas communicated the conclusions on the evaluation of the training, the importance of training for course participants and the application of the acquired knowledge and skills in future work in the field of Health Economics Management.
The proposed project aims to establish close links with partner Universities, but also to contribute to the training and teaching of their academic staff and skills transfer, as well as to establish cooperation in the field of master’s and doctoral education.
