INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE OF THE AGRIMBA NETWORK IN MONTENEGRO IN JUNE 2013 IN THE ORGANIZATION OF MBS

At its recent meeting, the Board of the International AGRIMBA Network, which gathers 15 universities, mainly from the EU countries, has made a decision to organize the next biannual International Conference in Montenegro ( in June 2013), in the organization of Montenegro Business School. This is a great recognition for the Mediterranean University and the study programmes delivered at Montenegro Business School. The accreditation process of the MBA studies in English at Montenegro Business School will last until June 2013, when the Annual Report will be examined by the AGRIMBA Board.

The representatives of the International Accreditation Committee paid a visit to the Faculty of Business Studies

Professors Ivana Ticha and David Mckenzie, representatives of the International Committee for the accreditation of the MBA programme, paid a visit to the Faculty of Business Studies on 17 and 18 May.
During their visit to Podgorica they had meetings with the representatives of the Faculty of Business Studies and the University Mediterranean and they were also present during the defence of Master’s theses of the MBA students.The goal of the visit was to find out how the Faculty of Business Studies is implementing the MBA studies in Management, Finance and Agribusiness. Professor Dragoljub Jankovic (Faculty of Business Studies) and Laszlo Karpati (Debrecen University), who are coordinators of this programme, presented their structure of the studies to the representatives of the Committee, as well as past achievements and plans for the forthcoming period. Based on the talks they had in Podgorica, Professors Ivana Ticha and David Mckenzie are going to give their opinion and recommendations to other members of the Committee, who will meet in Italy at the end of June to decide whether this programme should obtain the international accreditation as well, since it already obtained the national accreditation.

Another group of MBA students defended their Master's theses

The students of MBA studies (Master of Business Administration) defended their Master’s theses at the Faculty of Business Studies on 17th students presented their theses to the International Committee: Nada Kovačević, Zekerija Fetić, Sanja Božović, Milan Kovačević, Svetlana Obrenović and Milena Marković.

The MBA studies in Management, Finance and Agribusiness are the first studies of this type in Montenegro, which are organized by the Faculty of Business Studies, in cooperation with its EU partners. Classes are held in English, and students have an opportunity to attend lectures delivered not only by local professors, but also by experts from renowned European universities (Debrecen, Budapest, Wageningen, Aberdin), with which cooperation has been established. These studies are a continuation of the Course “Commerce and Marketing“, which was organized within the Tempus IV project. Apart from the professors from the Faculty of Business Studies, Professor Laszlo Carpati as well as Professors Ivana Ticha and David Mckenzie, representatives of the International Accreditation Committee who paid a visit to the Faculty of Business Studies, were also the members of the Committee for the defence of Master’s theses. The Committee agreed that the students had elaborated their theses in an excellent manner, particularly bearing in mind that they were written and defended in English.
